On August 15, 2002, approved and amended the Executive Order, May 9, 1997, No. 1997-19 OE-third paragraph: Composition of the Board, as required by the new federal "Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill Act 2000. " The Act requires that 60% of board members are representatives of consumers. (OE-2002-41).
The Council comprises 30 members: 18 persons with DD or their representatives, 11 representatives of government agencies and a representative of an organization serving people with DD.
In administrative terms the Council has 10 employees, among which is an Executive Director.
The designated agency that provides administrative support to the Council is the Planning Board, whose chairman is Mr. Luis García Pelatti.
