integral to residential structures; Chapter 44 regulates such systems by
linking to the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Common Standards
and Premise Standards so residential buildings are designed and constructed to

4401.1Scope.
 

The
provisions of this chapter and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
Common Standards and Premise Standards shall govern the design and construction
of the telecommunication infrastructure, and the installation of components,
appliances, equipment and systems used in buildings and structures covered by
this code.

 





 





 

 

 





 





 

TIA-570 shall govern the design, construction and
installation of the telecommunications components, appliances, equipment and
systems used in buildings and structures covered by this code.

 





 





 

 

 





 





 

The
Puerto Rico Telecommunication Regulatory Board may, by way of Technical
Bulletins and or Regulations amend or clarify the Telecommunications Industry
Association (TIA) adopted standards.  

 




 

 


 

 




 

 


 

 








REASON/SUBSTANTIATION/BIBLIOGRAPHY:: To incude in the Puerto Rico Residential Code up to date telecommunications infrastructure standards.

COST IMPACT:: The cost impact is approximately $100 dollars. The expense is partially mitigated by the reduced conduit runs from the panel to the receptacles in a star pattern distribution when compared to the standard telecommunicatiosn distribution used today.
